Adult Special Learners and Their Families
Parents and Advocates for Slower Learners is a non-profit organization incorporated in Dallas/Fort Worth in 1986, whose primary purpose is to promote social opportunities for adult slow learners in our community. We are a group of caring families and friends in the Dallas area who work to achieve this goal. Although our family members had finished school and were employed, they were lonely and bored. We recognized the fundamental social need of all adults to enjoy and grow with friends and we knew we could not meet their needs alone.
